“I created this series as a narrative about my journey from Kyiv to the Carpathians. I moved long before the war, but even then I felt the tension. I wanted to remember these magical views from the train window on the way to a new stage in life. These works contrast my past and present. For me, it’s about peace and anxiety, thirst for life and fear. A cold winter morning in an industrial zone. Simultaneously life-affirming and depressing.”
Nata Levitasova is a Ukrainian artist born in 1996 in Kyiv. She currently lives and works in Tallinn. The artist works in painting with elements of Neo-Cubism and geometric simplification, using canvas and oil paints. Her main themes are industrialization, the displacement of nature by cities, and human loneliness in the modern world.
