Eduard Potapenkov
Eduard Potapenkov is a Ukrainian artist, was born in 1968 in the city of Dnipro. In 1987, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Art College named after E. V. Vuchetych, and in 1995 from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. He currently lives and works in Kyiv, where he creates his artistic projects. From 1993 to 1996, he was a member of the artistic association “Kholodnyi VEL.” He is a permanent participant of the creative group “Squat on Olehivska.” He participates in various collaborative projects and collaborations. Since 1996, Eduard has been a participant in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad.
The artist does not define his art by strict genres and strives primarily for change, encouraging viewers to engage in visual dialogue. The vibrant color palette gives destruction a positive resonance, proclaiming the artist’s optimistic outlook on life. His work is characterized by depicting not so much people themselves, but rather their surroundings, allowing for deeper exploration of themes of interaction with the environment.
