Yurii Syvyryn

Yurii Syvyryn is a Ukrainian artist, curator, and educator, born in 1983 in Kyiv, where he currently lives and works. In 2007, he graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture with a degree in Painting, and from 2007 to 2010, he pursued postgraduate studies at NAFAA. Since 2007, he has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

In his practice, he works at the intersection of painting, media art, and installation. He combines his professional activity with teaching and curatorial practice. Over the years, he has taught at the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, the Creative Development Center “Inspiration,” and at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, where he currently works as a lecturer in the departments of painting, composition, scenography, and multimedia.
The main themes of his art are contemporary consciousness, collective memory, the information environment, social mechanisms, media reality, and the interaction between personal and public experience.
Yurii Syvyryn’s practice focuses on the exploration of how individuals perceive reality in conditions of constant information flow. His works function as visual models of contemporary experience, where personal experiences intertwine with collective narratives, and individual consciousness is shaped by social, political, and media processes.
Using painting, installation, and new media, the artist creates multilayered images that challenge conventional ways of seeing the world. His projects often address themes of memory, identity, the power of the image, and the transformation of reality in the era of digital communications.
